Avenue Leopold, Ostend, Belgium

Picture of the Avenue Leopold in Ostend, Belgium. Ostend is a seaside resort in West Flanders, flemish part of Belgium.
Amongst the Dutch probably known due to their fight against the Spanish Empire during the Eighty Years' War (1600s), when the Dutch rebels, the Geuzen, had occupied the city.
Both King Leopold I and II liked to spend time in Ostend, increasing the profile of the city.
Picture Added on 03 November 2008.
