Belvédère, Nijmegen

Colourful picture of the former wall tower Belvédère, Nijmegen. It is likely that it was built as early as 1511 and initially was called 'Hoender-toren'.
The story goes that the Duke of Parma (or one of his Italian engineers) renamed the tower to Belvédère (beautiful view). And a lovely view it certainly is!
