Picture of Brixham, Devon

Colourised photo of the fishing port Brixham, Devon, England. Nowadays it is still used by fishing trawlers and it is a popular place for tourists, as you could have guessed from this picture.

Brixham has a remarkable note in its history, for me that is anyway. In 1688 William, Prince of Orange (later to be King William III) landed in Brixham with a mainly Dutch army. Many of the local people still have Dutch surnames, being descendants of the soldiers in this army.
