Cartmel Church

Late 19th century picture of the Cartmel Priory in England. The Priory was founded as early as 1190. Its history is a bit turbulent with monks hanged and so on, resulting in the Priory being dissolved in 1536.
The actual church building remained in service on and off with interruptions like the church being used as a stable and a grammar school. The Gatehouse still exist too and is currently owned by the National Trust.
